It’s been another week when we’ve had every sort of weather – except a heatwave. Most of this weather has been the sort of stuff you want to hide indoors from. The exception was last Sunday when I made the most of the sunshine and finally did some gardening – cutting back the fuchsias and clearing this flowerbed. Unsurprisingly this week has been a very sad week, but when we drove up to Barnstaple last weekend, we couldn’t help smiling at these bales of hay…

Sunday Sevens – 13th August

Last Sunday we had a run out to Boscastle. The Ryeland sheep who have been letting me use their wool moved there earlier in the year.  So we went to pick up their fleeces from their new home. Continue reading “Sunday Sevens – 13th August”

It’s been a unsettling week with the heart breaking stories unfolding from the terrorist attacks in London and the general election Friday. The weather seems to have reflected this, moving from vague sunshine to high winds and a lot of rain then sunshine again then more rain and fog.

Sunday Sevens – June 4th

I’ve set a heart as my featured image this week to send love to those who’ve lost loved ones, and those injured, and their families in both Manchester and London. I also send love to all victims of violence, and to send love and thanks to all the brave and wonderful people who work for our emergency services.

Sunday Sevens – May 28th

Last weekend Lovely Husband headed north to help his parents move house. Mr Hicks is getting to old to travel so far, so we stayed at home. With the house to myself, I covered ever available surface with brown bags and knitting kit production went into full swing for the summer season…

Sunday Sevens 9th April

As luck would have it, a week after I decided to finally start making a quilt for our bed, the Spring Quilting Festival was on in Exeter. So last Sunday, me and my crafty chums headed off for the day.  Along with the stalls was a quilt exhibition of the South West Quilters Quilts…
