Sunday Sevens 2019 #32

Welcome to my Sunday Sevens – a post where I share seven (or so) photos of my week away from the blog. But before I post any photos here’s a quick one question quiz…

What was the most important thing that happened this week in England?

The first December election was called since 1910?

Wrong!

England made it to the final of the Rugby World Cup?

Wrong!

The Bake Off Final?

Wrong.

Halloween?

Wrong.

No, the most important event this week was Harry’s Birthday!

We bought him some new squeaky tennis balls…

Kong Balls00

I’m not one for making dogs cakes – especially goldies with their sensitive stomachs – but Harry did have a extra treats and a vegetarian pig’s ear to celebrate…

Of course the most important event of the year has to be offset…

England lost the rugby despite the boys support…

The weather has been even wetter than ever. I’ve never seen the River Okement this full…

With all the wet weather I stayed in and caught up with chores, including resurrecting the bowl of cacti I made lovely littlest nearly 3 years ago.

Of course some other lovely things happened too…

I received a photo of  some Santa Sacks knitted from my Santa Sack pattern. The lady who sent it has made 42 in total – Not sure I’ve made that many!

And Lovely Husband bought a magnificent pine cone back from the woods to draw.

I haven’t drawn it yet, but was so impressed with it I’m displaying it on the coffee tale.

Hope you’ve had a great week.

Until next time,

Puppy Paws Dog Walkers Sock Pattern, Giveaway Confession and LoveKnitting.com

If you’ve been reading this blog a while, you may recall that back in July, I made my first vlog post and set a give away competition for a paw print sock pattern PDF. I promised to announce a winner on my next vlog post. But then life took a bit of nose dive, I never made my next vlog post and, to my shame, forgot about the give away.

Paw Prints Dog Walkers Socks

Or at least I forgot until a couple of weeks ago, when I published my Dartmoor Sheep Sock pattern and remembered I’d never put the puppy paws pattern up for sale or  found a winner of  the giveaway. So here I am finally making amends.

First off, a HUGE apology to all those who entered for not running the draw.  Second I’ve now made the drawn using my random name picker, aka Lovely Husband and  a Tupperware box with screwed up pieces of paper in it. And the winner is…

Puppy Paws Sock

Mary from Mary’s Yarn Creations! Mary, I haven’t contacted you yet, since I think it’s a nicer surprise to read a post and find out you’ve won something. Please contact me through my contact form to let me know your email and I’ll send the pattern over. Of course I’ll contact Mary if she misses this post.

For anyone who does fancy the Paw Prints Dog Walker’s sock pattern and isn’t Mary, it’s now for sale as a PDF download on Ravelry or as a paper pattern, with free postage and 30% launch celebration discount, in my shop.

I also wanted to let you know that my 27 Knitted Santa Sacks and Dartmoor Sheep Socks patterns are now also for sale on Love Knitting as well as Ravelry and in my shop.

The Paw Prints Dog Walkers sock pattern should be on Love Knitting shortly, but it takes 5 days for them to approve patterns.

And one final word especially for Lynn who blogs at Tialys, Yes Heartfelt is next on the list, but the paws socks pattern was already knitted up and edited and tested.

Thanks for dropping by!

Stitching Santa 2017 – Gifted by me

This is the third year I’ve taken part in the #stitchingsanta organised by Shelia at Sewchet. In the previous two years, I’ve enjoyed blogging about my progress on the gifts I’ve been making. However this year I haven’t been able to blog (much), because my recipient was none other that the lovely Shelia herself. No pressure there then!

27 Knitted Santa Sacks Pattern

It’s funny how things grow. Just under a year ago on 1st December 2016, on a whim, I decided to knit a different Santa sack and publish the pattern free on my blog for the 24 days of advent.  It was a great fun and, although I ended up posting two sacks on a couple of days when I got behind, I otherwise achieved my goal.

After Christmas I took a look at the patterns again and realised what a mess they were. I took them down planning on tidying them up ready for this year. I pretty much forgot about them until August – or maybe it was even September – when I decided to sort them out, ditch a few awful ones, design some new ones and publish them as a collection at the beginning of October.

However life had other ideas. I didn’t make the beginning of October, but finally after working on them for what currently feels like forever, I’ve just uploaded the PDF to Ravelry!

You can find the pattern here.

I’m also making a printed booklet available in the Dartmoor Yarn Company shop. But don’t go looking for it yet, because I haven’t finished putting that together yet.
