Finally an FO! (or two) – Anyone for Christmas Pudding?

A while ago I decided to knit a  Christmas pudding – as you do. I wasn’t happy with my first attempt, so the Christmas pudding got put down and forgotten until Tuesday this week, when I remembered, while doing my WIP round-up , that I wanted to knit one.

I was very happy with the second attempt…

So I knitted it a friend, made a label and stuck it to a bag…

And, much as I hate Christmas spreading out far beyond December, us crafters need to get going  in good time. So I reinstated the small  Christmas section of my website too.

Yay! Finally feel like I’ve finished something 🙂

Hope you like my little puddings.

27 Knitted Santa Sacks Pattern

It’s funny how things grow. Just under a year ago on 1st December 2016, on a whim, I decided to knit a different Santa sack and publish the pattern free on my blog for the 24 days of advent.  It was a great fun and, although I ended up posting two sacks on a couple of days when I got behind, I otherwise achieved my goal.

After Christmas I took a look at the patterns again and realised what a mess they were. I took them down planning on tidying them up ready for this year. I pretty much forgot about them until August – or maybe it was even September – when I decided to sort them out, ditch a few awful ones, design some new ones and publish them as a collection at the beginning of October.

However life had other ideas. I didn’t make the beginning of October, but finally after working on them for what currently feels like forever, I’ve just uploaded the PDF to Ravelry!

You can find the pattern here.

I’m also making a printed booklet available in the Dartmoor Yarn Company shop. But don’t go looking for it yet, because I haven’t finished putting that together yet.

WIP Update

Although it’s been a month since I last posted my work in progress, I’m afraid there hasn’t been a lot of progress – partly due to being busy and party due to three weeks of me falling asleep on the settee most evenings, because Mr Hicks was unwell and getting me up in the middle of the night. Although I’m pleased to say he’s now been sleeping through since last Saturday 🙂 Continue reading “WIP Update”

Knitted Santa Sacks: Free knitting patterns for advent – day 21

Still running a day behind – I confess this is because I went to the pub last night. That’s also the reason the fair isle is a little uneven in the centre – I knitted it magic loop when I got back from the pub, where I may have had a few glasses of wine, and forgot to make sure the floats were loose enough between the two sets of stitches on the needles!

Knitted Santa Sacks: Free knitting patterns for advent – day 19

The pace has finally got to me. You may have gathered I’m knitting these as I go along and today’s is a disaster, but no time to rip and knit again. So just to prove I did it, here it is and for a bit of fun, what the heck do you think that white blob in the middle is supposed to be?

I won’t kid myself that anyone wants a pattern for this, If you want a 19th day Santa sack, I haven’t done a plain stocking stitch one, yet, so let’s just pretend that’s what this one is and knit up as a picture one with no picture.
