Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated

To paraphrase one of my dear blogging friends…

I’m wondering should I mention my absence and apologise for it?  Or do I just crack on and bombard you with photos of some of my knitting since I blogged last? Yea, I think I’ll just do that.

There’s not a lot, since knitting has been on the back burner too. I only picked my needles back up at the beginning of December to continue my tradition of giving my daughters a homemade Christmas ornament. For some reason I thought they’d like Christmas elves…

I made two of these

… then I went and bought a card for lovely littlest that mentioned Christmas elves and Christmas fairies, so I made a fairy too…

I’d bought two egg cups to put in Lovely Littlest and her boyfriend’s Christmas stockings, so I knitted them two egg cosies…

Lovely Eldest didn’t like the innovative pompom I put on the hat I knitted her last year, so I swiped that one and knitted her a new one with a traditional pompom…

I also knitted two baby berry hats for two babies that arrived in January…

I’ve also knitted half of this, which I’d started just before Easter last year…

For now that’s it. I’ve missed my blogging buddies, but I can’t possibly catch up with all your posts I’ve missed. But if anyone has had any big happenings in their life or you want to share a particular post with me, please put a link in the comments below.

Stitching Santa 2017 – Gifted by me

This is the third year I’ve taken part in the #stitchingsanta organised by Shelia at Sewchet. In the previous two years, I’ve enjoyed blogging about my progress on the gifts I’ve been making. However this year I haven’t been able to blog (much), because my recipient was none other that the lovely Shelia herself. No pressure there then!

Stitching Santa 2017 – Gifted to me

This is the third year I’ve taken part in the #stitchingsanta organised by Shelia at Sewchet. Each year it’s been one of the highlights of my Christmas.  This year was no exception, and when a jiffy bag arrived in the post full of beautifully wrapped parcels, I got very very excited.

Reindeer Sweater Ta Da!

Having started this in January 2016, knitted half way up the back then left it untouched until sometime this summer, I’m pleased to finally tell you, I finished LH’s Christmas Sweater just in time for our village Christmas meal.

Here he is, very excited to finally be wearing it…

Knitted Christmas Ornament Swap

Since our knitting group meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month, we decided to have our Christmas party back in November, because none of us would make the December meeting so close to Christmas. We took scraps of Christmas coloured yarns and patterns for Christmas ornaments. Each of us started knitting an ornament, but being busy with food and wine, none of us finished. Stitch markers, mugs, pictures and roving

Over the last couple of months I haven’t done half of the things I’ve meant to do.  One outstanding task, I’ve finally worked on is fully updating the Dartmoor Yarn Company website shop. Here’s what I’ve added…

Stitch MarkersKnitting and Crochet Stitch Markers

I absolutely love making stitch markers, but during November haven’t been able to make them quick enough to have any left after fairs to put in the shop. But finally there are some  for sale, both for knitters and for those who crochet…

Hand Embroidered Pictures

I confess I may have been avoiding putting these in the shop, because I don’t really want to part with them…

Mugs

I’m down to my last three…

Roving

This really should have been up before now!

And I’m sure everyone has their supply of Christmas colours for spinning or felting this year – but just in case, and there’s always next year…

Okay, so I’m not going to win an award for business woman of 2017, but sometimes there’s far more important things to do than update your web shop.
