WIP Catch up

Just in case my blog is beginning look as if all I’m ever going to subject you to in future is bad sketching and strange looking machine scribbles, I thought I’d better do a quick WIP catch up…

My red sweater is still on the go. Not much progress since last time – too distracted by every other craft. All I’ve done is finish the wrapped pattern and add some ribbing to  the top.

I’m currently contemplating how to edge the top – since casting straight off from the rib is going to create a rather unsightly seam – or rather I keep meaning to contemplate it.

My other knitting WIP – a tea cosy for my friend – has come to a complete standstill. I really should finish it, so little left to do…

I’ve completed two more squares of my crochet blanket – 12 down, 8 to go.

I’ve started an embroidery, which was supposed to be a quick project, but I keep sitting down too late in the evening to concentrate on it.

I’ve already sold out/sent out all of the free motion embroidery cards I made, so I’ve made a huge batch more. The fronts are currently waiting to be stuck to the cards.

There is also pair of PJ bottoms wafting around somewhere almost finished.

As you can see I’m almost keeping to my promise of not to having more than one project of each type on the go at once – although not making huge progress on any.

Until next time,

Holiday Crafting

Having been told to pack light for the motor home trip, I decide taking most of a finished jumper to complete was not a good plan. Instead I picked up a couple of small projects I’d been meaning to work on for ages.

On the way up to Bridgend to pick up the motor home I knitted a rat for a friend who had asked me to knit her one – as friends do.

There was no knitting while travelling in the van, since I was giving Harry my undivided attention.

Crochet took over as we chilled on holiday and I completed three squares of the Charlotte square blanket…

On the drive back home from Bridgend to home I knitted most of a  tea cosy sweater for a friend who’d requested one.

So I still have the tea cosy to finish, but I still feel I accomplished plenty on holiday – not that I needed to accomplish anything apart from have a good time.

Until next time,

New Knitting Project

This year I’ve decided I need to have fewer projects on the go so that I can focus more on what I am doing, get projects finished more quickly and reduce the risk of ending up with more UFOs.

On the knitting front, apart from working on my UFO socks, I’ve been diligently faithful to my Heartfelt Cardigan for some time now.

However when I realised I didn’t have a scarf to go with my red sweater, I decided I HAD to have one. I visited Raverly and chose the Jeweled Cowl pattern, the Woolly Beader for some yarn, and Ebay for some beads. So now I’m ready…

The plan is to knit the boring bits in the car on very windy roads and other places where I need low concentration, and add the beads when I’m watching TV. The rest of my knitting time will be spent working on my Heartfelt cardigan.

This project also fits perfectly in my new project bag – which is probably reason enough to start a new project anyway 🙂

So I’ve added to my projects, but hopefully this won’t reduce my focus. Not counting UFos – which I’m gradually chipping away at – I’ve currently got just just four ‘live projects’ on the go – two quilts plus these two knitting projects. Which is pretty good for me.

How many projects have you got on the go at the moment?

Until next time,

Bekki

Patchwork Progress

My knitting may be growing a little slowly at the moment, but my patchwork is going well. My floral patchwork quilt is now quilted…

I’ve sewn on the binding…

… and even hand sewn a quarter of it down…

I’ve also finished all the pinwheel’s on the baby quilt and added a boarder made from scraps of left over jungle fabric…

It was tight. This was all I had left when I finished…

Hopefully I’ll have completed the floral quilt by next week.

Hope your projects are coming together well.

Until next time,

In the craft room

Thought I’d show you a couple of odd bits and bobs I’ve been working on, that don’t need a full post, before I forget them.

I started working on this small sweater a last week for our great nephew expected in June…

20190321_083740ooo-e1553164381542.jpg
I’ve knitted this in self patterning yarn, for an easy knit without looking in the car. Not very pleased with the dark blue at the top – but also thinking it’s not helping that there’s no sleeve on that side. What do you think?

Various people have sponsored the acoustic clouds that have been bought for our village hall. These clouds are now being adored with a reminder of who sponsored them. For some reason I ended up felting on the bell ringers bell – managed to get out of actually making it though. So don’t give me any credit for that…

The other not so small bit I’be been working on is my patchwork quilt. Ditches have been sewn!

Hopefully you can see the sewn lines more clearly on the reverse side.

Thanks for dropping by.

Until next time,

WIP Update

When I just looked back at my blog posts, I discovered my last WIP update was September 7th; six weeks ago! Of course a lot has happened since then,  so I’m not beating myself up for not having finished anything, the lack of updates since, or lack of progress. However, I have made some progress. But first off, here’s what I’ve completely ignored… Continue reading “WIP Update”
