I started my Lost in Time Shawl at the end of September, when I finally gave in to temptation and bought a Scheepjes whirl. Continue reading “Lost in Time Shawl Ta Da!”

Stitch markers, mugs, pictures and roving
Over the last couple of months I haven’t done half of the things I’ve meant to do. One outstanding task, I’ve finally worked on is fully updating the Dartmoor Yarn Company website shop. Here’s what I’ve added…
Stitch Markers
I absolutely love making stitch markers, but during November haven’t been able to make them quick enough to have any left after fairs to put in the shop. But finally there are some for sale, both for knitters and for those who crochet…
Hand Embroidered Pictures
I confess I may have been avoiding putting these in the shop, because I don’t really want to part with them…
Mugs
I’m down to my last three…
Roving
This really should have been up before now!
And I’m sure everyone has their supply of Christmas colours for spinning or felting this year – but just in case, and there’s always next year…
Okay, so I’m not going to win an award for business woman of 2017, but sometimes there’s far more important things to do than update your web shop.
WIP Update
When I just looked back at my blog posts, I discovered my last WIP update was September 7th; six weeks ago! Of course a lot has happened since then, so I’m not beating myself up for not having finished anything, the lack of updates since, or lack of progress. However, I have made some progress. But first off, here’s what I’ve completely ignored… Continue reading “WIP Update”
New Project – Lost in Time Shawl
I fell in love with Scheepjes Whirls the minute I saw one, but resisted buying because I’ve sworn a) that 90% of my yarn purchases will be British wool and b) only to buy yarn when I know what I’m going to knit with it.
Colour Survey
I’m thinking about the colours I’m hand dyeing my yarns with. Various people I’ve spoken to have been very helpful, but I thought I’d ask you guys too. So I made a survey. It would be really great if you’ve got a couple of minutes to answer the questions in it and/or pass on to anyone you know who knits or crochets.

Exhibit B #MMMay16
This year I joined Me May May, pledging to wear one garment I had made each week that I never or rarely wore, and to reflect on why I didn’t wear it. As we’re in week two, here’s my second…
I can already here some of my lovely readers saying, ‘But we like that!’ However, that’s not the only bit of deja vu I’m getting. This second piece of me made clothing, just like the first, I made: Continue reading “Exhibit B #MMMay16”
Rookie error
When I was a kid, our LYS used to tuck a couple of extra balls of yarn in a pigeonhole behind the till, just in case the pattern my mum was buying yarn for needed a bit more than the suggested amount. So I learned very early on that shades vary between dye lots and have never bought yarn without ensuring I have enough of the same dye lot to complete a project. Continue reading “Rookie error”
