What are the four London Gates?
Gates. Traditionally, London had seven gates, although this is not entirely correct. The original wall had only four gates: Newgate, Ludgate, Aldgate, and Bishopsgate; and the gate of the legionary fort, which is now Cripplegate.
Does London have any Roman ruins?
Some visitors to London might be surprised to hear that there is a Roman Wall and Roman ruins in London, but they do exist. Around the year 50 BC, the Roman settlement of Londinium was established near where the City of London stands today.
