Sunday Sevens 2019 #29

Welcome to my Sunday Sevens – a post where I share seven (or so) photos of my week away from the blog.

It’s been another wet week of near non-stop rain …

Our usual dog walking paths had already turned into rivers – but this week made then flow ever fast…

…and paths that had been passable last week had turned into ponds…

It was definitely a week to stay in and do some work – although I did try a a little avoidance by tidying my ribbon box…

Being mostly stuck inside meant I finally remembered to start off my damson vodka…

Of course a little bit of rain didn’t stop me and Harry going for walks…

And in non-rain related events, Lovely Husband took some stuff to the charity shop and returned with a small gift he found on the book shelves…

Not sure what I’m going to write in here. Any suggestions?

Until next time,

  1. Good look with the damson vodka. Sounds nice, I think I would like it more than sloe gin. Your journal could be for all your craft show rosettes or recipes or mementos of walks with Harry. Or anything yarn related, not sure. I do have a travel journal. I guess our blogs are our journals now too. πŸ™‚

  2. It’s been raining here all week too – but have dog must walk! I am having a massive rearrange in my craft room and along with that a massive clearout too – its all chaos here at the moment! Your LH is a keeper! Seems appropriate to me for that journal to be used in some way for things relating to your yarny stuff – samples, ideas, actuals, sales successes – a journal of your crafting life perhaps…….

    1. Oh yes, definitely have dog, must walk! Well done on the rearrange/declutter. I need to do my office and my sewing room – they are both a complete disgrace.
Had LH for 33 years now, so guess he can stay πŸ˜‰ Thanks for the ideas. It’s not huge and the pages are quite thin, so I think sample are out, but others are good suggestions xx

  3. Yes the journal must be for yarny stuff – could you sketch out ideas for new designs in there and show off your new drawing skills at the same time.
Damson vodka sounds appealing but it looks like something you’d see on the shelves of a science lab at the moment. I’d still have a glass if I popped round for a Christmas drink though πŸ˜‚

  4. Ribbons always needs sorting, and it is fun to see what you have in there.
Hot and sunny here, so our walking was from shade to shade. πŸ™‚ No rain yet, just a few clouds and promise.
Love the journal. I would probably keep it for notes on the local yarns I buy and use, etc. πŸ™‚
Have a great new week and enjoy.

    1. The ribbons were almost all all charity shop/junk sale finds or (the majority) taken from gifts/packaging and had just been chucked in a box as I collected them – so were well overdue for tidying.
Yarn notes is an excellent idea as it’s lined and not huge. thank you. Think that’s the one I’ll probably run with.
Wishing you a great week too. xx

  5. That is putting things off to tidy the ribbons. Mine are a right old mess. I think you should take up poetry and write sheep poems in the lovely journal…. I know a good one about baa,baa black sheep, then draw a picture, then write a pattern…
