Sunday Sevens 2019 #28

Welcome to my Sunday Sevens – a post where I share seven (or so) photos of my week away from the blog.

Last Sunday we headed off to visit Lovely Littlest, who took us to visit High Wycombe’s highest waterfall…

Still with her on Monday, we walked Harry…

Then had lunch at a lovely pub in Marlow Bottom…

I loved this room in the pub…

…and their vegan pizza…

Back home it had been raining non-stop and even the paths were turning to rivers…

It was so cold and damp we succumbed to turning on the aga…

I also made butternut squash soup to help keep out the cold…

On Thursday I found some lovely big pink buttons and a triangle paper punch in a charity shop…

On Saturday we went to beach…

And had lunch at the Cracking Crab…

Hope you’ve had a great week.

Until next time

  1. And did you go to the Hell Fire Club whilst you were in High Wycombe? Mr E’s brother lived near Great Missenden, so we visited there lots. Mr E also worked in High Wycombe for many a year! hope the river footpaths have stopped flowing a bit. That sandwich looks delicious.

  2. Amazing, such a lovely week. Loved the pub too, it looks like a stunning place to visit and just spend some time resting.
Sorry it was so very cold, you know just how to keep warm and cozy. The soup looks delicious.
Hope it does not rain so much to prevent you from walking and enjoying the outside.
Have a great new week and take care. Keep warm there.

    1. Hello. Thank you. It was a lovely week – although it went so fast as always.
I did love the pub. We have some beautiful pubs down here and most are gorgeous building that are hundreds of years old with wonderful atmospheres, but they have a very different look and feel to the ones up country. The one we visited last week certainly was a wonderful space. And on top of that the food was great and the barman really lovely and very dog friendly 🙂
It was not so much the temperature, but that damp that induced us to turn the aga back on. And don’t worry, no amount of rain stops us walking Harry. I don’t like the strong winds, but I still take him out.
Wishing you a great week too. Guess your weather’s getting warmer? xxx

      1. Hello there,
Always nice to hear and read about your part of the world. Living close to the city, and working in the city, making me miss the countryside so much more. My neighborhood is pretty nice and old, so lots of trees and parks still. But not like yours. We need to drive to those kind of special places. 🙂 Lucky Miekie loves road trips.
Not to mention the food! Always a bonus if you get nice food too.
I love the rain, and will many times head on out after a rainstorm, just to walk in the streams running down the road.
Yes, it is hot here already. Around 30 C already. I think we are heading for a very hot summer.
Got the first warnings for our first summer thunderstorm today. Hoping it rains, we need the water. But it may flood too after the winter and be very slippery out there too.
Enjoy the day, nearly weekend again, and have fun “drawing” it looks fun and pretty neat. 🙂 You are so good at getting your hands on really interesting things, I like watching what you do and make.

      2. Hello. 30 degrees is HOT. We had up to 38 up country, but in our spot we could have only maxed about 26 this summer.
Love the smells after the rain. I do hope you have some, but not too much. We’ve had flooding elsewhere in the country in the last couple of weeks.
Aw! Thank you for all the kind things you said about me and what I do. Having fun with the drawing, but struggling to stay focused on just one idea and flipping all over the place.
Well the day is a long way through now. Hope you’re having a good one.And wishing you a lovely weekend xx

  3. Beads and Barnacles

Hmm soup. I have been making some soup this week as the weather has just been asking for it. You’ve just prompted me to go and make some more with the last few things in my fridge (leek and potato I think…) 😊
