A Small Ta Da!

Hello!

Hope you’re having a great week. I’m just dropping by to show you a small finish; a very small sweater our new great nephew due in June.

I’m still not sure about the break in the dark blue part of the pattern at the top caused by using self patterning yarn to cheat and have an easy knit. But I’ve got a few months to decide if I’m going to do anything about it. Although I am thinking it definitely looks better now it has sleeves.

Until next time,

  1. I suspect when baby is wearing the jumper all eyes are on his face and the beautiful blue jumper becomes a backdrop that adds to the overall adorableness…… and a change in colour from the self striping yarn will not be noticed unless you point it out.

  2. I don’t think that blue bt is a problem, it’s just a fact of the yarn. That being said, would the other side work as a front if it really bugs you? Otherwise you could (honestly I really wouldn’t bother πŸ˜› ) duplicate over the few dark stitches with light blue so it changes colour on the raglan seam??

    1. The bottom band dictates that side is the front, but there’s a similar break in the dark blue on the other side anyway.
Duplictae stitching over is an excellent idea, but I’m going to stare at it a little long and only do it if it keeps bothering me.

I think this is adorable. I didn’t even notice the problem you mention until you mentioned it! So I would let it be. It’s a lovely sweater (and so cute!).
