Ever since I collected the beautiful Jacob fleeces in December, I’ve been dying to start knitting up my ideas for the brown half of the yarn.
With the Christmas break, the mill took longer than it normally would. On top of that, although the cream yarn was ready a couple of weeks ago, the brown – presumably because they spin lighter colours first – wasn’t ready until last week.
Having finally got my mitts on the brown yarn last Thursday, I set about knitting on Friday afternoon.
I’d had a sore throat and slight temperature since the middle of the week and on Friday night my head was becoming more and more fuzzy with cold. When a complicated idea wouldn’t play nice, I gave up and left it for the morning.
But on Saturday, my creative zing had completely left me. I just couldn’t think how to shape the knitting the way I wanted. I knitted up some simpler ideas instead.
On Sunday my shivers were getting worse and I couldn’t even find the energy to decide how long to knit a small I-cord. Instead I pulled out my knitted coin purse pattern and knitted up a brown one.
Still on the decline Monday, I settled beneath the duvet on the settee, unable to even find the oomph to sew up the coin purse. On the plus side, between naps, I did catch up with all my lovely blog friends posts and on Tuesday wrote a short review of how far I’d got with my creative goals this year. Although how coherent I’ve was in my post and comments is for you to tell me.
Today (Friday) I’m a lot better, but still quite muddlehead and still can’t think about patterns and how they correlate to the small pile of brown knitting I’ve created. But I have risked sewing up the coin purse.
So my much anticipated week of getting ideas finally into action didn’t happened 😦 Here’s to more energy and a clearer head next week!
