Knitted Santa Sacks – free knitting patterns for advent!

In a moment of Christmas madness, I’ve decided to create my own advent calendar of free knitting patterns for mini Santa sacks. Although they don’t have to be so mini if you knit them in a thicker yarn. I’m knitting mine in our Shetland/Ryeland four ply and they’re knitting up at approx 2.25″ (5.5cm) x 3.25″ (8cm).

These mini Santa sacks make the perfect wrapping for small gifts, great Christmas tree ornaments, or, if you knit them all and save them up, you could make an advent calendar with them next year.

As you can see, the first one has a traditional snowflake motif.

Hope you I’ve designed one you’ll like!

UPDATE

Since writing this post the 27 Santa sacks knitted for this challenge have been compiled into one single pattern available here on Ravelry or here at Love Crafts.

  1. These are too cute, I’m wondering if they might be the thing I was looking for! I want to make something for my son’s school Christmas fayre and for my daughters preschool one too. I bet I could whip some of these up and fill them with chocolate coins. Thanks for sharing

  2. How generous of you. I’m wondering if I knit all 24 I could have all my pets wearing little mini drawstring boots this Christmas on all 4 feet. The cats might put up a struggle but I do like a little bit of pet dressing up at this time of year šŸ˜‰

      1. Thanks, that should keep me busy for a while! I need to finish one for an ornament exchange and also have 2 children and 4 grandchildren who may get one each if I can get them done! And then my husband likes them too :)….Your Jacobs are beautiful!
