Sunday Sevens – July 17th

Time for another Sunday Sevens – the brainchild of the wonderful Nat at Thread and Bobbins,  devised for2 bloggers to share seven photos of their personal week.

On Monday I walked Mr Hicks in the woods and came back to find I couldn’t take the handbrake off on my car. Two hours later, when the Green Flag  man arrived, he discovered a small piece of glass hand slipped inside the switch and was jamming it. If you read last week’s Sunday Seven’s  you’ll know where the glass came from!

On Tuesday our nephew, his wife and their friends – who are holidaying in Devon – came to see us. We had a lovely time, walking on the moor…

… and playing with all the girls old toys…

We had more visitors on Thursday when an old school friend and her husband came to stay for a couple of nights. It appears no one stood still long enough to have their photo taken. The best I can do is this one of their dog, Basil.

Squeezing in work between car challenges and visitors kept me busy the rest of the week. But I did find time to take a picture of the foxgloves  while out walking with Hicks. There seem to so many more of them out this year…

Hope you’ve had a great week too.

    1. Never realised they didn’t have foxgloves in France. Hicks got on fine with Basil. Poor Basil is on his third home and has few issues from his previous lives – so he’s very anxious. But Hicks is so laid back, they were soon very comfortable with each other. Mind, I did hide all Hicks’ toys – he’s not laid back when it comes to sharing.

      1. I don’t blame him. I remember when we bought home our German Shepherd pup from the R.S.P.C.A., our golden retriever took one look and buried all her toys in the garden. She was never allowed to have a toy all to herself ever again 😦

  1. Oh no, how awful someone breaking into your car! I am glad all is well.

The foxglove looks beautiful, and your visitors look really cute! We had little ones visit us for the weekend recently, it is surprising how quickly you forget what it is like to have young children. Our visitors were delightful but energetic!

    1. Thank you. The four year old was so entranced by all my girls old toys – especially the Polly pockets – we didn’t get too overwhelmed by energetic. But I know what you mean, they have so much energy..

      1. Polly Pockets are cool. My nephew’s wife and her friend were as enthralled with them as the little one. Their husband’s had been banned from looking for pokeman while they were with us. When Pokémon were out first time, my youngest wanted to marry Ash Ketchum – I think she’s over that now though 😉

      2. We loved the Polly Pockets as well. My daughter is to big for them now, although I suspect there may still be some in storage boxes somewhere.
Lol. I remember the start of Pokemon. I still love Pikachu, he has always been my little favourite.
I have not started looking yet. My yarn is still winning here. 🙂

      3. We found all ours when we moved, so I homed them in the wardrobe in the guest bedroom, so I could find them when we have small visitors. Glad to hear Pikachu and his chums aren’t winning over the yarn 🙂

  2. I’ve noticed that the Foxgloves have been particularly good this year and these are a prime example. Sorry you’re still experiencing fallout from the car incident. Nice to see Mr Hicks has a friend:)
