Sunday Sevens – May 1st

Time again for Sunday Sevens,  devised by the wonderful Nat at Thread and Bobbins for bloggers to share photos of their personal week.

1. What with being under the weather and weekends away, last weekend was the first I’ve had since the one before Easter to get some gardening done.

2. I also gave Mr Hicks a rather overdue trim.

3. The garden was getting so out of control, I decided to do an hour each day to start getting on top of it. Unfortunately it turned too cold for gardening at the beginning of the week. Sleet on Tuesday and snow on Wednesday and Thursday.

4. Another thing being under the weather had stopped us doing was the pub quiz at our local, but last Wednesday we finally made it again. We lost of course.

5. Back to normal also meant I finally got back on my bike. Still on the turbo trainer, due to cold weather and only doing short bursts, because of my back, so I’m reading this as I pedal. Not really got into it yet though.

6. I’d been quite resistant to frogging the twenty rows too many I’d knitted on Lovely Husband’s sweater, but I did eventually. I’ve finished the knitting – apart fro the collar – and am now sewing together the bits that need sewing before I can do the collar. But it’s happening very slowly, since I hate sewing up 😦

7. Yesterday was National Yarn Shop day, so I popped into my  LYS, Rockin Beads, to do a couple of hours knitting.

Hope you’ve had a great week too.

    1. Hello! Yes, knitting on a Saturday afternoon was a bit of a luxury. According to the weather forecasters snow is quite normal in spring – although it’s long time since we’ve had any. I think the truth is most weather is possible most months in the UK. Hope you’re warming up over there. And you have a lovely weekend too xx

  1. Well done for frogging all those rows but now for the worst bit – sewing up. You sew though don’t you? I don’t really mind sewing up but I think of those people who don’t sew at all and it must be like purgatory for them.

  2. Your weather sure is still going very cold, and looks pretty chilly out there. Weirdest weather I have seen in a while. Take care and stay warm. Love the garden, it is really so gorgeous and peaceful.
Nice yarn shop too, I could sit there for a bit and just relax myself.
    Enjoy the new week.

  3. We’re hoping to get in the garden this afternoon as the weather has done a real about turn since the beginning of May – thank goodness. Dull though lawn mowing and weeding may be, they have the best impact on the overall look, don’t they? You’ve got the dreaded frogging out of the way then – well done:)

    1. You’re absolutely right. The other week, Hubby wandered round claiming he’d added ten grand to the price of the house because he’d cut the lawn. heaven knows why, we’re not remotely thinking of moving. Hope you got lots done this aft. meant to do the same today, as it’s lovely here, but now 4.30, so I’m not going to get much done :-(.
